A woman of many talents, Barbara Roseman is a busy wife, mother, grandmother, Realtor, and opera lecturer as well as a very accomplished artist. “Painting rapidly, Barbara covers a sheet of watercolor paper like the children’s cartoon in which the magic brush starts in one corner and sweeps across the page to make a full picture.” This unique painting style creates a finished watercolor that looks like abstract dots, squiggles, and bits of color when viewed up close. However, from across the room, the painting becomes a lifelike representation of the subject. Barbara’s background in oil painting gives a weight and depth of color uncommon in watercolors. She takes great pride in using no white paint, just letting the paper shine through. “Her love of natural beauty, enthusiasm for life, inner spiritualism, and the absolute joy she finds in the process of creation are all reflected in her work.” Barbara has exhibited with the Wilmette Arts Guild, North Shore Art League, Suburban Fine Arts Center, American Jewish Artists Club, Blue Moon Gallery, Chicago Cultural Center, Koenig & Strey GMAC Real Estate, Coldwell Banker Real Estate, Gross Point Café, Premiere Bank, Bank One, Wilmette Recreation Center, Weinberg Friend Center, and other venues.
